Hey, I'm Maeve
My heart beats for hospitality. Not the flashy, everything in its place, all homemade kind. I can't promise you that. It's not my jam. To me, hospitality is a heart posture, a willingness to offer full presence. A chance to make people feel seen and know they belong. A saying without saying, "your story is welcome here."
I'm all about building a longer table and making room for one more.
Put plainly, I want the places I dwell to feel safe and inviting. Sometimes that involves homemade soup & crusty bread and other times store-bought pizza. Food adds to the story, it isn't all of the story.
Most often you'll find me in my kitchen (because I love to eat) or on my porch (because I love people). I believe the art of neighboring, living and loving right where you are, could actually change the world. My cooking style? Simple. More fun, less fuss. I want food to taste and feel good.
My work history is wide -- baker, teacher, event planner, counselor, and fundraiser. It wasn't until 2017 that I quit all things to run after my dream of becoming a writer. Writing has always been my way to make sense of the stories happening around me. It refines me and frees me. It’s the place I meet God.
I have my dear husband to thank for helping me take the leap. He tells me to keep writing. My inner critic is loud, I need people to remind me to keep going, to keep walking forward. To keep putting pen to paper.
I'm here to encourage you to do the same. Whatever that something is that lights you up, please do it.
So come on in, friend. There's a seat for you here. Consider this your invitation to lay any striving at the door. I'll work hard to do the same. We'll break bread and eat chips and guac. We'll get really honest. We'll find stillness amidst the hustle and chaos. We'll celebrate that messy middle and our own season of becoming.
Pour yourself a glass. You’re welcome here. You belong. xoxo
